2024 års säsong står för dörren och vi i Leksands Baseboll o Softbollklubb vill härmed välkomna och introducera några av klubbens tillskott på spelar- och ledar-sidan för den stundande säsongen.
Först ut är seniorlagets tilltänkta tränare för säsongen 2024. Jonathan (Jon) White kommer att träna och leda våra baseboll seniorer, men också assistera i att träna föreningens juniorer och ungdomar till viss utsträckning. Nedan följer en kort introduktion och hälsning från Jon själv:
Hello, my name is Jon White. I am a 23 year old from Buffalo, New York. I am currently a student at Alfred State College and previously earned an associate degree in Building Trades. I will be graduating with a bachelors degree in May, with a major in Construction Supervision and a minor in Business. I have been on the college baseball team 4 years as a starting pitcher. Growing up playing both baseball, American football and wrestling, I started playing baseball in particular when I was 5 years old. Ive played travel baseball from the age of 8 up to 18, playing for many of the large organizations in my area in nearly every position on the field. Apart from that, I also grew up working in construction with my father and uncle. Besides baseball, I enjoy hunting, and fishing in my spare time, as well as enjoying some Mexican cuisine.
As of this summer, I am looking forward to learning the culture of Sweden, having the opportunity to meet new people as well as making new friends along the way.
As a coach I will bring knowledge of pitching mechanics along with the mental game of sequencing and tunneling pitches. I will also bring knowledge of the game in general including hitting and fielding.
I hope to have a successful season this year in terms of winning as many games as possible while still having a fun time!
